The United Arab Emirates has successfully prevented advanced cyberattacks aimed at its aviation, energy, and education sectors, according to the country's Cybersecurity Council.

The attacks involved a range of techniques, including targeted phishing campaigns and attempts to exploit users to gain unauthorized access to critical digital systems and infrastructure. These efforts sought to compromise accounts and operational data within the targeted sectors.

The UAE's national cybersecurity monitoring and response system maintained a high state of readiness throughout the incidents. The council reported that the attacks were promptly identified and addressed, with containment and protection measures implemented simultaneously. This approach prevented the attackers from reaching their intended targets and ensured the security and operational continuity of the affected sectors.

The Cybersecurity Council emphasized that the response to the attacks was both immediate and proactive. Intrusion attempts were contained before the attackers could achieve their objectives or disrupt vital systems and services.

National cybersecurity teams successfully detected and repelled the cyberattacks, tracing their methods and associated indicators of compromise. They also implemented necessary technical actions to neutralize the threats and prevent further spread.
